No tracking cookies

The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner.

No comments, accounts or uploads

The old version of this site ran on WordPress, which had comment forms, user accounts, password resets, picture uploads and an automatic spam checker, and could share a coded form of your email address with the Gravatar picture service. The current site has none of these. It is a set of plain web pages, so you cannot create an account, leave a comment or upload anything, and no information is collected that way.

Visitor numbers

The site may count visits using a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies or identify you.

Where the site is hosted

The pages are stored on a server rented from Hostinger and delivered through the Cloudflare network, which also protects the site from attacks.

Server and security records

Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages, including Cloudflare's, keep short-term technical records such as IP addresses, to keep the site secure and working.

If you email us

We use your email only to reply to you, and delete it when it is no longer needed. We do not add you to a mailing list, send marketing or surveys, or contact you by phone, text or post. There is no newsletter.

Videos

Some guides show NHS videos from YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube (owned by Google) may then store information on your device under Google's privacy policy. If you would rather not, the same videos are on the NHS website.

Links to shops and services

If you follow an affiliate link (these are mainly on kit guides, and every one is labelled), the shop or service, for example Amazon, may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, to record that you came from this site.

Your rights

UK data protection law (the UK GDPR) gives you rights over any personal data we hold about you. In practice, that usually means only an email you have sent us. You have the right to:

  • be told what we collect and why (this page does that)
  • see the personal data we hold about you (a "subject access request")
  • have it corrected if it is wrong or incomplete
  • have it deleted
  • ask us to limit how we use it
  • get a copy to reuse elsewhere (data portability), where this applies
  • object to how we use it

The site makes no automated decisions about you.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. There is no charge, and we will normally reply within one month.

Who is responsible, and how to complain

PRAG-DEL-SOL-ONE Ltd is responsible for your data, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration ZC086000). Contact [email protected].

If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.

Changes to this page

If the way the site handles data changes, this page will be updated first, and the date at the top will change.
